Don Larson

Donnell "Don" E. Larson, 76, of Sterling passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 in Sterling. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:00 am Friday, May 19 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am with Father Michael Bodzioch officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the North DakotaVeteransCemetery, Mandan, ND. Don was born on April 9, 1941 in Wilton, ND to Elmer and Maxine (Johnson) Larson. He graduated from HazenHigh School and Bismark Jr.College. He was in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1966-1974. He was later the Finance Manager for Holloway Chevrolet. On September 22, 1962 he married Phyllis Cermak in Mandan, ND. They were married for 54 years. Don was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, and St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He ran Babe Ruth Baseball and the Sterling Basketball City League. He enjoyed bingo, cribbage, and playing cards. He loved watching a variety of sports including football, basketball, baseball, and golf. Don is survived by his wife Phyllis Larson; sons Darren and wife Emily and Craig and wife Karen; daughter Tanya; grandchildren Carter Larson, Grant Nieland, Tyler Nieland, Amanda Lionas, Melissa Lussier, Makenna Larson, Mitchell Larson, Bella Jones, Sophie Jones; great-grandchildren Scotty Lionas and Hayes Nieland. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Maxine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don's name to the Logan County Humane Society in care of Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
