I still remember playing catch with Don before our little league games. He was a great guy and I´m glad I got to see him so many times these past few years. My prayers and my heart go out to you Cindy.

I met Don in 1976 in Big Spring, TX, where he was coaching my nephew and his little league team. He was a natural teacher and the kids liked him. Don's brother and my ex-husband, Paul, was managing the team. They were so close as brothers. I'm sad that Don has left his beautiful family, and I know he will keep them close until they meet again. So to Cyndy, Ben, Laura and his grandgirls, I wish you peace as you go on together. To Cheryl, Don's sister, and Daniel, his brother-in-law, I pray that you'll keep strong and know that Don is with your parents.

An extremely funny "hippy" showed up to a soccer game our daughter was playing. Turned out he was the grandfather of one her best friends, Addy. He showed up to each and every game without fail, and even wound up (willingly) taking our daughter to practice. His heart was so big, so genuine that you couldn´t help but love him from the day you met him! It is always so painful when those you love go before you, but I have faith we will see him again!
