Rev. Donald Francis Black, 77, of Plainfield, NJ, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025, after a long journey with Huntington's Disease.

Don was born September 15, 1947 in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from Glen Rock High School, Glen Rock, NJ, in 1965; Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY, in 1969; and Princeton Theological Seminary in 1978.

I am a Phi Mu Alpha brother of Don Black from Hartwick College. The love of music saw him through a lifetime and expressed his faith. I remember Don introducing me to the formal Chinese banquet when he asked me to attend one given in his father´s honor by London´s American Church. It was a big step up from take-out Chou mein for me. Don enjoyed introducing you to something new and different. He did that for many people in many ways. "I will sing unto the Lord a new song."

I have fond memories of Reverend Black with his guitar at the pulpit. He also Baptized my daughter.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I was Director of Music when he served as our pastor at Donegal Presbyterian Church. We enjoyed having him and his new ideas for worship. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
