Don Bowhay beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on November 1, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Don grew up in Three Hills Alberta, and at a young age developed a passion for model airplanes that would last a lifetime. He worked all over Alberta and Southern Saskatchewan as a seismic surveyor before settling down in Regina in 1958. He worked for the Government of Saskatchewan in the Ground Water Management and retired in 1984 before moving to Airdrie in 1988. Don is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years Jan; his caring children, Lorraine (Trevor) Gooding, Lorna (Terry) Stasiuk and Bob (Sheryl) Bowhay; his grandchildren, Nicole Gooding (Aaron Lunde), Robert (Rebecca) Gooding, Michael Stasiuk, Jason Stasiuk, Hailey Bowhay and Connor Bowhay; his great- grandchildren, Bruce, Hannah, Ryan and Kendra Lunde and Jessica Gooding; his sisters, Irene Walker, Inez Dressel and Verna (Gordon) Blair; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Bradley; his brothers, John, Daniel and Leonard; and his sisters, Daisy McLean and Betty McBean. A Celebration of Life will be held at Town and Country Club (103, 275 Jensen Drive NE, Airdrie, Alberta) on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. A private Graveside Service will take place at Carstairs Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to may be made to the Calgary Poppy Fund/Veteran's Food Bank, 4539 – 6 Street NE – Unit 1, Calgary, Alberta T2E 3Z6. Phone # (403) 265-6304. In living memory of Donald Bowhay, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Sorry to hear of Don's passing. I first met him when the airdrie modellers had a field right beside the Airdrie grain elevator. Don was always ready to help a fellow modeller. He was a skilled builder, and was always out at the field lending a hand when there was work to be done.

I only knew Don for the last few years, as I recently joined the AMAS club. I used to sit with him on the bench at the field and chat sometimes for an hour or two. He was always into helping others. What a wonderful man. RIP Don.

Although I just met Don a couple of years ago, when I joinged the AMAS club, I sat on the bench with him numberous times out at the field and had good chats. What a wonderfully nice man. Your whole family must be so proud. He was always so into helping others. RIP Don.
