In Loving Memory of

Donald Anthony Burns Jr.

December 13, 1956 - July 19, 2025

Donald Anthony Burns Jr., lovingly known as Don, Donnie, or Bernie, passed away peacefully at his home in Stuart, Florida on July 19, 2025, at the age of 68, after a short battle with cancer.

Born on December 13, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, Donald lived a life full of hard work, laughter, and love. As a skilled bindery operator, his career took him from Dayton to Belarus, and eventually to Florida. No matter where life took him, Don found a way to connect with others-through jokes, shared stories, and the occasional cold beer.

He had a passion for fishing and could often be found casting a line with a smile on his face. A natural teaser and storyteller, Don loved making people laugh and never missed a chance to tell a good joke. His sense of humor and quick wit were as much a part of him as his kind heart.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Donald Burns, and his mother, Norma Baker; also special Brother-in-law, Ronnie "Dunky" Moorer. He is survived by his devoted wife, Inessa Burns, and his former wife, Kathy Burns. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Indea and La Toya Burns (Marcus Lowery), special stepdaughter Vodneva Vladislava. Cherished grandchildren, Jace Walker, and Landon and Lydia Lowery, step grandchildren Veranika & Kirill Vladislava. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Michael Burns and Beverly Tankersly, as well as a host of special family members, friends, and neighbors who will miss him dearly.

In honor of Don's wishes and life, no formal funeral services will be held. Instead, we ask that you honor him in one of the ways he would have loved best: go fishing, cheer loudly for the Cleveland Browns this season, or raise your favorite beer in his memory.

Bye for now, Daddy.

To the Burns family,

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you at this sad time.
I am sharing in your sadness as you remember Bernie who I had the pleasure of knowing for 40 plus years.
I know there are no words that can ease your pain but keep your happy memories of Bernie to uplift you during this challenge and know that I will always be here for you no matter what.

Sending you love and wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

When I think of Donnie, I think of hanging out at Highland Park. We did everything together we had a great group of guys that would go hang out we would play tackle football, softball, tetherball and an occasional Nickel Dime poker game. Going to miss you bro, rest in peace, see you on the flip side
