Donald Child

Don Child was a man of many talents, foremost in my mind -- a Scouter of unbelieveable quality and character. He was our Scoutmaster that pulled all the boys (and their families) in the right direction and the troop was named one of the top 50 Scout Troops in the LDS Church. To his whole family, our family sends best wishes and our heart-felt faith in the blessings of eternal union.

Lots of love to the Child family at this time.

Don was one of my favorite telephone people. I remember when he used to come to Tooele to work with my dad, Lee Crawford. We didn't have motels back then so Don stayed with us. Normally, he would sleep in my room and I would take over one of my brother's beds in their room. Once I went to work for the phone company, anytime we ran into each other, he always remembered me and always stayed to visit for a few minute. He was a truly nice man and I'm sorry for your loss.

Grandpa Child will be missed by so many and for me I will miss his example, support and love. He was the perfect example of service and the definition of a 'Good Man'. He loved deeply, serviced selflessly, supported and encouraged those around him and forgave with an open heart. Grandpa Child helped me keep custody of my children. At a time in my life where the world felt hopeless - he brought me hope. I owe him my life and my kid's lives for that. What a beautiful celebration in heaven it must be that he is reunited with my grandma, the love of his life. I am so grateful that he is my grandpa. Love you Grandpa!

Don Child had a great influence on my life. I knew him through Scouting and his examples are with me still. I feel fortunate to have known him.

Hi Warren. As I was reading the obits, as I do every morning (to see if I'm there), I saw this name, and am assuming it's your father. Don't know if you remember me, it's been so many years! You were a good friend of Arvil's. He passed away 3 and a half years ago. I wish your family well. Rosie Parcell
