Donald Eric Colby Sr. of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on January 8, 2023, at the age of 77. Donald was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dorothy Mae Durrett (Hathaway) and the late Henry Lee Robertson.
Donald is preceded in death by his beloved mother Dorothy Hathaway and sister Rita Ann (Smith) and wife Joyce Livingston (Colby).
Donald attended Washington High School in Indianapolis. Entered and served in the United States Marine Corp for four years where he received several awards including high honors of a Purple Heart for his mission in Vietnam. Donald went on to work in the corporate world with Allison Engine Company and Teledyne Corporation before retiring. He enjoyed playing Backgammon, hanging out with his friends and sharing time with his four-legged companion Spencer. Donald was a caring husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and a great friend to many. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Donald is survived by his son Donald Eric Colby Jr., and granddaughter Aaryka Colby. Daughters Candace Brown (Byron); grandchildren Brianna and Devon. Sherri Winston (Kevin); Bianca, Johnathan and Sable. Sisters Tondra Porter, Linda Harrington and Theresa McNeal. Brothers Keith Bowen and Ira Hathaway. Nephews and Nieces.
An extended family - The Robertson’s. Cousins Kenneth Davis and Tanya Davis and a host of loving friends. Our family extends love and thanks to all who offered support and condolences during this time. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.
