To Andy's family
I am an old friend and former law partner with Andy, going back to high school at Boone. Although we did not keep in regular touch (which is why I just learned of his passing), Andy will always be a close friend to me; and I am sure his family and friends miss him terribly. He was a fantastic law partner and incredibly smart and talented lawyer.
Following law school, we often had Andy over to our house for events. I specifically remember taking Andy and friends to the Kissimmee Catfish Restaurant, and he came back to our house and fell asleep on our floor, and spent the night. (in his bachelor days). I am sorry that we did not remain closer over the years.
With deepest sympathies

Very sad to hear of Andy´s passing. Worked for him and Tom from 2000 to 2006 and Andy was the coolest boss I ever had. He made practicing law fun and I have many fond memories of those years. RIP Andy, you are dearly missed.

I just found out about this. I am so, so sorry. Andy was a friend from Howard Jr., through Law School and beyond. He had a great, guttural laugh, and was always good company. He will be greatly missed.

Andy was my roommate in law school at Florida State for over two years. Our other roommate was Bill Smith. We lived in an old house off campus. We worked hard and played hard as law students. All three of us made the Law Review but we also had time for intramural sports as well as competitive running. Andy and Bill were also accomplished guitar players. Andy was a great and funny roommate and I don't think we every had an argument in two years. Around the law school we were simply known as Smith, Debevoise and Gordon. Our house hosted numerous parties and social events and living with Andy was one of the most enjoyable times in my life. I will truly miss him.

Uncle Andy was always so incredibly welcoming and genuine. I remember all those Thanksgiving and Christmas celebration at the Roxmere house. With the string lights in the back yard - the dogs running around - the DeBevoise family full of energy and joy. Andy was always in the middle of it all. He always made an effort to catch up with me. But, his approach was always so warm and non judgemental. He also smiled more than anyone else. He had contagious energy that was subtle but strong. He never interupted or butted his way into conversation, but was always ready with a calm and friendly smile and comment. I will miss Andy! Rest in peace. Ill be smiling extra big for you during the next holiday get together!

Such a loss. He was the best boss I ever had. And a great friend. Kind, smart, encouraging. I worked for him from 1997 to 2000 and to this day it was the most fun I ever had practicing law. I´ll see you again, Andy. Love ya.

Had not seen Andy in years, but there isn´t a happy memory from elementary school at Lake Como, to Howard Jr. High, to Boone that he isn´t a part of. He was with me there even through some tough times. I also knew and admired his Dad. So sad to have lost touch, but so proud of a man I´ve never forgotten as a friend.

Julie, John, Dan and the rest of the family, I was sorry to hear of Andy's death. He was a good lawyer. More importantly for me, he was a good friend.
I remember well our time together at Eckerd College and Andy's musical skills with both the guitar and the banjo, as well as the time spent together later during our professional lives. Rest in peace Andy.

So many good memories of great discussions--and friendly debates--with Andy over the years. Admittedly, most were about sports! Andy was a kind, caring and friendly man, an embodiment of "a great guy".

John, Dan, Julie and Julie:
My deepest condolences on the passing of a dear friend and fellow trial lawyer. Andy was an old soul who maintained that same sense of humor developed when we attended Lake Como Elementary together over 60 years ago.I can see his smile now.
After school, we lost contact for a while, I went off in the army, medically retired then I went on to law school at Florida and came back home to practice. Imagine my shock when I sat down for a deposition in one of my first cases in the early eighties and in walked the defense lawyer, Andy! ....We both exclaimed at the same time "what? You´re a lawyer now?"
Andy has been held in the highest esteem by lawyers all over the state. His passing diminishes the practice, the old school civil and honorable relationship between good lawyers that could be based on a handshake.
I will carry his memory in my heart forever.

John, Ralph and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family. When we lived in Tampa, and were members of Palma Ceia Presbyterian, some of your very best and most enriching sermons were when you shared about your family life. Your family has been an inspiration to many, and a blessing to this world.
