Dear Aunt Beth and Family, It is impossible to think of Uncle Don without remembering his warmth. My parents had a special place in their hearts for Uncle Don, and even though my siblings and I didn't see him often, we grew up feeling his presence. We knew every detail about every cousin because when Uncle Don held Dad captive in "the chair", he filled Dad's mouth with cotton balls and told him everything! And as funny as it seems, my father, a quiet man who really was more comfortable listening than talking, cherished those times. My father told everyone what a great dentist Uncle Don was. Not surprisingly, my husband, the son of a dentist and an avid golfer, became a devoted patient of Uncle Don's too. We will all miss his energy, his charm and especially, his love. Meg

Dear Aunt Beth and cousins,

Although we never had the usual family encounters the times that I have spent with Uncle Don (my godfather) have left warm impressions. My favorite memory was when Uncle Don danced with me at my first wedding when I was 22 and rather outside my families favor, he was so very sweet and supportive and made me feel special. He had a gentle spirit that I also recognized in my own father... I hope they are together and at peace. Uncle Don comforted me when my dad was in the hospital, he was a wonderful man. I feel a personal sadness knowing he is gone.

Dear Aunt Beth and Kids,

I share your great loss. Uncle Don helped shape my career as a dentist. Without his help, I doubt if my application to Tuft's would have been given much consideration. He advised me to go with the service and get some experience before going out in the real world. I guess, I'm still doing that. I loved our conversations concerning dentistry. He was always up on the newest techniques and trends.

As a kid, I loved the trips to Braintree, to see you both and my cousins, although it usually involved a side trip to Uncle Don's office. He was kind and gentle. I hope I've emulated him in my own care.

I will miss him. Jimmie
