Drake, Donald 3/23/1932 - 10/25/2022 Cedar Springs Mr. Donald Clarence Drake, age 90 of Cedar Springs, passed away, Tuesday October 25, 2022. Don was born in Grand Rapids on March 23, 1932 the son of Clarence and Alta (Kryger) Drake. Don joined the US Army in July of 1950 and proudly served overseas in Germany in the Korean War for almost two years. When he returned back to the states he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Milewski and they married after a short three month courtship. Don and Pat married on December 24, 1953 and celebrated their 67th anniversary before Patricia passed away in June of 2020. He loved doing puzzles with Mike, his son and roommate at the Brook of Cedar Springs. Don Greeted everyone with such an infectious smile. Most of all Don loved the Lord and wanted everyone to know his Lord and Savior. Don is survived by his two sons, Michael Drake, Mark (Michele) Drake; three daughters, Susan Harig, Donna (Steve) DeVaney, Laura K. (Dave) Sieracki; nine grandchildren, Brecken Pitsch, Joshua Harig, Jonathan DeVaney, Jacob Harig, Stefanie Denton, Tyler Harig, Andrew Forsythe, Katie Harig, Nathan Sieracki. Also, eleven great grandchildren; sister, Audrey (Bob) Boonstra; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alta; wife, Pat; sister, Dorothy Haywood; daughter-in-law, Laura A. Drake; great grandson, Wesley E. Denton. The Funeral Service for Mr. Drake will be held Monday October 31, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe St., with Mr. Jeff Russell officiating. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2PM to 4PM at the Funeral Home.
