Donald Franklin Fitzner

To April Fitzner and Don's family, my condolences on Don's passing and my thanks to Don for his service to our nation in the Navy, the Army, and with USAID in Vietnam. I never met Don, but worked with April in the Army Corps of Engineers and have remained a friend long after leaving Albuquerque. She often mentioned her father and that he was a Veteran. While she did not go into detail I could sense she was very close to him and proud of him. I can see after reading about Don's life the example he set that certainly contributed to April's own integrity, adventure, caring, and service - no greater legacy. I wish Don's family strength in this difficult time.

Don, always had a smile and a story or joke. He was an amazing man.
A privilege to know.
Marcia may God feel you with peace. God be with each of you in the days ahead. Lots of heart felt love going your way.

Donald was my oldest cousin, he was also a mentor, as a kid, I wanted to be just like Donald. He seemed to know everything and how to do anything. I always had a great deal of respect for Donald.

Mr Fitzner...a gentle giant! You are loved and will be missed!

Getting to meet Don for the 1st time and was so glad that he was married to my sister Marcia. He was a loving wonderful man and we were blessed to have them both part of our lives. He will be greatly missed by us all. Since Julie & Louise do not have computers, I was asked to send their condolences to the family also.
