Dear Thelma and family,
I was saddened to hear about Don's passing today.
I worked along side of Don for many years when we worked for the safety association. I often think of the many hours he spent with his work family assisting them in the development of being some pretty awesome safety people that continue to help keep Saskatchewan workers safe today.
Don had great stories to tell no matter where you travelled with him. About two years ago I was travelling in the Nipawin area and I partially remembered a story Don had told about the naming of the rivers in the area. I text Don asking for him to retell the story. Within minutes he was texting back telling me the story of the Presbyterian Minister travelling through the area with his dog. Oh how I loved travelling with Don throughout the province.
He taught me many things about Occupational Health and Safety, Saskatchewan folklore and some incredible life lessons that will always be with me.
When Don retired many of us felt like we were losing a second father to retirement. Today I am struck again by an incredible sense of loss of a very special man. He was funny, he was witty, he was a fabulous leader and mentor, he was passionate about what he believed in and mostly he deeply loved God and his family. Don influenced many in this world and did make a difference.
My deepest sympathy to all of the Grant family at this time of incredible loss.

We will miss Don at Luther College events. He was a great supporter of our College and the Luther Bach Choir. Simply put, he was a great Christian who was always thinking about what it meant to witness to Christ's truth.

Don was a special part of the Camp Kinasao community and contributed to this ministry in many ways. His mentorship and encouragement to me personally has been so appreciated and valuable and will have a lasting impact. He will be dearly missed here at camp. Love, prayers and comfort go out Thelma and all of the family from Kari and the Kinasao staff.
