Dear Bev and family:
Don will always be remembered as a warm, wise and supportive person, a brilliant scientist, the first and foremost Canadian hydrologist and as a builder of the University of Saskatchewan and Canadian geoscience and engineering. His intellect was terrifying, his insight profound and his values sterling. He set high goals for himself and challenged those around him to their betterment. I am sure that his family knows him better as a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather. To me, his roles as a friend, mentor, teacher and colleague have been of primary importance to my development as a person and scientist. He was also simply a very enjoyable person to be around. The gap he leaves cannot be filled. My thoughts are with you.
