Donald Hall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 3, 2025.
Donald Bruce Hall, 80, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, in Cooper City, Florida. Born on January 3, 1945, in Miami, Florida, Donald lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion to his family, and unwavering pride in those he loved.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Donald served his country with honor during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. During his time in service, he took on a protective and nurturing role among his fellow soldiers-many of whom later reached out to express how deeply they were impacted by his guidance and brotherly care. His military service remained a defining chapter of his life and a source of enduring pride.

Donald was a devoted husband to Sarah and a loving father to daughters Mary and Julie. He also held close to his heart the memory of his beloved daughter Kathy Wallace, who preceded him in death. As a father-in-law to Steven Lemos, Alberto Castagna, and Robert Wallace, Donald extended his warmth, kindness, and love to their families as well. His grandchildren-Alex and Nikki Lemos; Noah and Dominic Castagna; and Lily Waller-brought him immense joy and pride. He cherished every moment spent with them and took great pride in their lives.

Family was at the heart of everything Donald did. Whether it was cheering on the Miami Marlins or the University of Miami Hurricanes during football season or watching the Miami Dolphins play on Sundays, he loved sharing these passions with those closest to him. An avid sports fan with a competitive spirit, he also enjoyed playing racquetball through the years.

One of Donald's favorite traditions was traveling to the mountains, when he could, each fall-a time he treasured for its beauty and peacefulness. These trips became cherished memories for his family as they shared laughter and stories surrounded by nature's splendor.

Raised in the Christian Science faith, Donald read his lessons daily throughout his life. In later years, he attended West Broward Church of Christ with Sarah whenever possible. When they couldn't attend in person, they faithfully watched services online every Sunday morning-a testament to their shared spiritual commitment.

Donald was known for being sweet-natured and kindhearted-a man of few words but deep convictions. He gave generously without seeking recognition and found joy in simple pleasures like spending time with family or indulging in his favorite sweets-especially ice cream.

To those who knew him best, Donald was more than just a husband or father-he was a steady presence whose love never wavered. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet generosity, steadfast loyalty, and deep familial love that will be treasured forever.

A Memorial Service honoring Donald's life will be held at West Broward Church of Christ in Florida following his passing.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire those who carry forward the values he lived by every day. A Memorial Service will be held on June 21, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM at West Broward Church of Christ @ 12550 W Broward Blvd, Plantation, FL 33325.
