Happy Birthday Grandpa! Wish you were here. Football has started and hockey is right around the corner. The Wolverines, Wings and Lions should all have good seasons. I'm hoping I can make it to the Wings vs Hurricanes game for the season opener.
I'm starting my fall season of ice. We have won the champion ship the past two seasons.

Good Morning Dad !!
Happy Birthday dear Son, Brother, Uncle, Dad, Husband, Grand Father, Great Grand Father, and Friend!!
Great present for you our Boys in Maize Blue and Gold beat Notre Dame 41 to 30!! In the Big House with 115,908 all cheering them on!! A beautiful sight from the aerial view the Stadium glowed in gold!!
We are now in South Carolina as the Parents had to fly back to the Sons nest. ( Usually the other way around!!) We have to give up the Florida house. The stay in Florida has been a challenge for us. So we continue to look out of the front of the car to discover what our future has in store for us !!
I bet your grin was huge as you had your guiding hands and arms around us and you kept us safe riding with Shannon in the Mustang from Florida to South Carolina!!
Enjoy your day and blow out the many candles that all provide for your cake today. German Chocolate and butter pecan frosting, and Vanilla ice cream!!
We think about you every day, and miss you no less than the time we thought of memories we all have shared with you before !
Hugs & Kisses

Hello Dad,
Happy Fathers Day to you!!
Not a day goes by that your not in our thoughts. The memories of all your guidance, teaching, and life lessons, we all miss so dearly. Mom and Jeff stopped by and dressed you up for the special day. You now have many quarters to call whom you may choose!! Hope all your visits are good with your Family and host of Friends this Fathers Day!! If you can please get with the "God of good Jobs opportunities" . Number one Son needs some help in these uncharted waters. The opportunity for financial in flow is very challenging, and the water is full of bad Sharks!! Experiencing feelings I have never been through before. Grandpa,
I can't believe that it has been almost a year since you have been gone. We all miss you terribly. I will not forget the day that you passed, it was record rainfall that day- 14 inches. Even mother nature knew it would be an awful day. I am thankful in many ways however, that I have so many great memories with you. Seeing Pike's peak and the Grand Canyon with you, my first Arizona Diamondback's game, driving cross country in a baby blue 1977 Monte Carlo, and of course eating cucumbers and buttermilk! I can also take peace in the fact that while we lived such a great distance from one another that now you can look down and watch over all of us now.
You and Grandma have always been my heros. First of all, Grandma makes the best pigs in a blanket! And second, fifty seven years of marriage I can't believe. Through thick and thin you two are such an ispiration to all couples.
I am not sure what has been going on with the tigers lately but maybe you may have something to do with that? Tigers defeating the Yankees in the last two games yah!!! By the way make sure to say hi to Ernie Harwell for me and Go Tigers!!
Lastly, I wish I could have heard this one last time but "Be good." I miss you and love you very much!
Love,

Grandpa,
It's hard to believe that a year has passed already. Reading all of the entries and seeing the family share all of our celebrations and hardships with you, I kept the guest book open for another year. I wish we could all visit you at your finale resting place but I know you can hear us share our thoughts, feelings and stories about our lives on here as well.
This past year has been good to me. It is the first time in a long time that I can say I have been truly happy. I am getting to see the girls more, on an almost daily basis. I have been in a relationship for a year with a wonderful woman that treats me and the girls great. I get to play hockey three times a week and one of those times is on ice. I can't help be think you are up there watching over me, and all us all giving us good blessings. Thank you.
The Lions are off to a rough start 2-4, Stafford has been hurt. We lost to the 9ers, they had been playing great and lost a closer one so Im sure they will pull it out.
The Tigers are up on the Yanks in the ALCS and are looking good.
If you could pull some strings and get a hockey deal done that would be great, but I think we are going to lose another year of hockey to a lockout. It's a shame to because the Wings are scheduled to play the Leafs in Ann Arbor at the big house outdoors on New Year's Day.

Reach out to her!! She loves to hear from you!!

October 14, 2012
Hello Dad,
Time passes us all by so quickly!!Everyone is so busy it seems we don't take the moment to say hello and hear the familiar voices of family members. It has been 363 days since your passing but the words left here for you still ring loud with the sadness and the emptyness each feels, from you no longer being here with us. We again are about to face a decision as this Guest Book Memorial is scheduled to close on October 17th. These great individuals who have helped us through these difficult times are truely special people. They make us feel at home, and as well we feel your home for eternity with them is peacefull and comfortable as well!! So as we close this open dialogue of sincere, heart felt feelings from so many family members, and their own special messages. We move on to the next Year and a new way to remember the times we all have shared with you.
Love you Dad!!
Hug and a kiss for you!!

Dad, this will be my final entry to you and mom. This has trulely been a difficult year for all of us not having you here. Mom has been very brave and found alot of courage I think she knew she had, but never had to. use. As for me I still feel very lost knowing now what the future will be like without having someone so close not be with us no longer. It really SUCKS! I am thankful every day for all I have and the family I have that loves me but losing someone really does change the dynamics of a family. We will all be there to see you soon and hopefully this next year I will feel a little stronger. You ARE missed , and I really don't know what I would do without my momma.

This comes too close to the day we all lost you. The time did surely fly, and hardly seems like a year. When you blink 10 times and a year is gone, I can't imagine how many other things and people I've missed the chance to see or to say hi to. Alot of people joined you this year, and none of us getting younger. I truley cherish all my family and love them more than they know. That is what this year has shown me. Love you Mom and Dad

Hello Dad,
April 12th a Thursday past, number one Son and wife celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. A special one to remember as we had with us, Na na, Johnnie, Shannon, Tyler, Ellie. In our hearts we also had Scott, Ainslee, and Bailee too. Our day was spent on a pleasure boat cruising the Inter Coastal Waterway. The wonders of our aquatic and wildlife were abundent and near. The Bald Eagles flying silently and freely in the air, seven in all. We continued South and made our way into the Alantic a mile and a half from the shore. A giant Sea Turtle surfaced for a moment and took a fresh breath of air! Beware below the boat as we deep sea fished many a Shark swam there. The Grand kids loved the 225 horses in the Yamaha engine that hurried us back to the Spanish River Inlet and shore to the crystal clear turquoise water galore. As Bump pa dived off the anchored boat head first all watched in awe !And we swam Tyler, Ellie and me, many Star Fish and a Sting ray swam near!! Time had come and we proceeded to the North to begin our return. To our surprise and everyones pleasure you were there through me driving us all to our home port. The grin of the younger man glowed through my face and with the wisdom of age, I look more and more like you!!
With Love and admiration,
#1 Son & Family

Hi Dad!
I know it has been tooo long but there isn't a single day that passes that I don't think and talk to you. Several things make me think of you, for example The hourly chimes of clocks, a gentle breeze and soothing sounds of wind chimes, alonley book sitting on the shelf, the daily crossword puzzle sadly unfinished or the beauty of a flower ready to bloom! It really is endless.
It really has beeen a beautiful spring- over 10 days in a row of 70 degrees or over, sure made the old bones feel good. The boys of summer are back in action and your Tigers are looking good! Just hope the pitching improves and we could go all the way!!!! Red wings are in play offs and ready to go- I really think they need your help, so for hockey town please help the red and white.
I really need your help in getting to Arizona- I am missing pressious moments with the Momma, and every second just makes my heart melt a little more.
I love and miss you, yet you are always living in my heart!

Hi Dad!
Only you know how much I think of you. Only you know how often I talk to you. But did you know- how proud I am not only of you but that I am your son. For teaching me right from wrong and good from bad. Giving me the strenght and courage to face each day. To earn my own way in the World. That family is everything. To put ones-self in the back seat and give, give, give. That knowledge is powwerful and to always learn. Tostand up for myself. To teach the ignorant. With my life-style for teaching me sports, which sadely to this day, if I can talk about sports and cars I am a real man. That if a bigot should cast the 1st stone to turn my cheek. The Luthran faith.
Most of all you and Mom instilling God into Greg,me John and Lydias lives. I know you are at peace just knowing you believe in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
That someday soon he shall return and join the sleeping with the living, slay all evil. We shall gather aat his feet, holding hands, beg for his mercy and shead tears of joy-enointing his feet. He will lift us into his ars and take us to Fathers Kingdom in Heaven, where we all will dwell in total LOVE.
We shall see you then!
Love you

Sorry to hear about Don. Celebrating Don's life with you is a wonderful way to help you all(Greg, Debbie, Jeff, John, Lydia, Mike and all your grandkids & great grandkids)get through this difficult time. I'm sure you have a lot of stories to remind each other of, the family vacations you always took. Some of my BEST childhood memories are of the times I got to go with you. Lydia, remember the time we ate all those candy bars and got an upset stomach...we slept in the station wagon the night before it was time to pack up and go home...we thought the bears were going to smell the candy and come get us...that is a memory I share often. Don was a special person, he supplied you all with alot of great memories. In his memory keep the stories told.

Aunt Rita and family, We are all so sorry for the loss of your husband and father. I will always treasure memories of our visits with Uncle Don and your family over the years. Meeting up at grandpas farm, You and Uncle Don camping in the yard, Holiday gatherings, fixing up the Grave sites on Memorial Day just to name a few. I am especially happy I was able to spend The last Easter with you and Uncle Don and will hold dear the song "Thats what friends are for" played for all of us to show his great LOVE to his family. He had a BIG Heart and a beautiful smile that will be missed by us all! I know by faith, that smile will be seen again when we all Reunite in heaven. Please know you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Love you.
Dawn, Chuck and family.

Dear Rita, Sharon and all my second ,third and forth cousins: I want you to know that my family and I share deeply in your lose of Don. Even though we haven't been in touch much over the years we love you and care and shed tears of sympathy in our own way. I have fond memories of family and regret not seeing all of you more often and getting to know my younger cousins. By faith in our Savior, Jesus, we share the sure and certain hope that we all will be united in the end to enjoy each others company. You are in our thoughts and prayers, Delbert, Charmaine ( Andrew, Nicole, Jared-Myrriah-Avery and Anna)

From your number one Son Gregory and wife Debbie. To Dad, knowing you are in a very special place in our hearts. My how the years and memories pass us all by. We move away and learn to say, "I and We love you" more every day. Simple words with great meaning, calming words shared every day. Dad we share your love, and have learned from you life is precious, and don't let one second slip away. Rest Dad and know you will all ways be loved by us.

Sending our love and hugs across the miles to see you through this very sad time. We enjoyed looking through the pictures of a happy smiling Uncle Don and his family making special memories. May your cherished memories give you comfort. I can only imagine the wonderful hug he and his Mama must have shared! I wish we knew when we would be seeing someone for the last time, so we would be sure to hold them just a little bit longer...RIP Uncle Don. We love and will miss you.
