You came into my life 39 years ago when I was dating your son Don, who would have known you would become my father-in-law 5 years later. You were the greatest father-in-law anyone could ask for, kind, caring, loving man, than when my own father passed away 23 years ago, you became my "father." I will miss our talks we would have just you and I about the kids, we will charish the memories from the vacations on the lake and the long weekend visits we spent together as a family. I am so happy you got to know your great granddaughter Violet Grace, she was always so excited to see you when you come over to our house. I always got a laugh when JoAnn would call and say I need Don to go your house for the weekend, she would say he always come back in a better mood and he would tell us about Joann, we may fight but I love that old gal. When you were over you would look for things to do and you always love gardening so you would ask if it was ok to pull weeds or one time you cleared out the front planter and replanted flowers. You touched my heart so, my dad was the same way about his gardening, he loved giving back. I know you are up in heaven looking down upon us, you will be our Guardian Angel from this day forward! Please say Hi to my Mom and Dad, give them a big hug from me and teach them how to play dominoes.Love you and miss you Dad.

Don was like a Brother to me! We first met when I was working at Jensen's Mkt. In Blue Jay near Lake Arrowhead! 1968. Almost 50 years ago!! Don was a Coca-Cola Delivery-Sales! I was the guy who checked the order in! We hit it off well. He had a way about him that would lead me to give him more display's than other Beverage companies!! This went on for a few years---Then I went to Gregory's mkt. 1973 as Store Mgr. Don was promoted to Supervisor at Coke! He would come up to see me with Bob May & Buy lunch!! Asking for a Cooler to replace Pepsi with Coke!!! Of course I would Don!!! I honestly think he wrote "The art of the deal" & Trump stole it!!! Fast forward a few years to 1978 I wanted to change job's & who else to ask but "My buddy Don" He helped me get on as a Coca-Cola delivery Driver!! Two years later I went into Sales & He became My supervisor!! Thanks to Don, that career last 30 years!! Don & I had a great working experience & he showed all of us how you could Supervise or manage without being mean or a hard guy! All his team respected him so much they would make our district #1 consistently!! Not only was he my Supervisor but my Best Friend!! (Fishing Buddy) Many times Me & wife Stephanie would go to dinner with Don & Joann together & even occasional vacations together!! We will miss Him very very much!

We will certainly miss Don. Back in the day, Mel says he remembers the family picnics where he and Don would just sit and talk together. Plus the soft ball games and that Don was a great ball player. He always enjoyed talking with him. He is really going to be missed. Don was always so friendly, kind and easy to be around. May he rest in peace, and know that he was greatly loved by so many.
