Donald Janik

Donald "Donnie" Janik, 71, passed away on May 6, 2025, at his home in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.

Donnie was born on July 20, 1953 to the late Max "Whitey" Janik and Virginia "Jinny" Haines Janik, in Rochester, New Hampshire. He was a proud graduate of Kingswood High School and the University of New Hampshire, and then went on to enjoy a long career at Fuel Storage and Global Petroleum in Revere and Chelsea, MA for 45 years.

A true builder at heart, Donnie constructed a barn, silo, and working railroad on his Hampton Falls farm. Throughout the summer, you could find him around the garden where he famously grew giant pumpkins. Hosting others brought Donnie great joy; the home became a cherished gathering place where family and friends were welcomed with laughter and love.

Donnie also had a passion for collecting; his ability to find value and meaning in the overlooked or forgotten spoke volumes about his creative soul and generous spirit. Donnie will be remembered for his amusing stories, costumes and crafts, and contagious laughter.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cindy Janik; his son Max and wife Qiqi of San Diego, CA; and his twin sons Luke of Albuquerque, NM, and Adam of Providence, RI. He is also survived by his siblings Sally Hunter of Hampton, Ginna Pearson of Swanzey, Max Janik and wife Peggy of Wolfeboro, Michael Janik of Hampton, and Susie Janik of Meredith.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church in Amesbury, Massachusetts. Interment in the Wolfeboro Center Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to the St. James Amesbury Restoration fund or the charity of your choice.
