DONALD JERICH Obituary
DONALD C.
Age 78, of Harmar, passed away at Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. He was born in Acmetonia on September 1, 1936, to the late Charles and Louise Jerich and has been a lifelong resident of the Valley. He served his country in The United States Air Force. He played soccer for the Bitburg Barons Soccer Club in Germany and the University of Pittsburgh Soccer team. Donald worked as an electrical engineer for the Songer Corp., where he eventually retired. He was a member of The American Slovenian Club in Harmar and former coach for Lower Valley Little League and Soccer League. Surviving Donald are his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Boris Jerich; sons, Donald E. Jerich of Pittsburgh and Charles P. (Kathy) Jerich of Indiana Twp.; daughter, Cathy A. Jerich of Cheswick; brother, Stan (Emily) Jerich of Harwick; sister, Evelyn Coughenour of Murrysville; brother, Kenneth "Frank" (Marge) Jerich of Illinois; two special granddaughters, Emily and Nichole, who were deeply loved and meant the world to him. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1607 Pgh. St., where services will commence at 10 a.m. Saturday, with burial to follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation, 707 Grant St., Pgh., PA 15219.
