I worked with Don at Command Airways and American Eagle for many, many years. A lot of fond memories and interesting conversations will stay with me. My deepest sympathy to his family, he truly was one of a kind and will be missed.

I am Don's Ex-Sister-in-Law (my sister Jackie was married to him before Kathy). One of my memories of Don was when he was in the Army stationed in Turkey. If my memory serves me (this is going back 50 plus years ago) he was a Disc Jockey for the soldiers at the Turkey Army Base radio station and Don asked me if I had any 45rpm records.....told you it was 50 years ago :) and would I please box them up and send them to Turkey to share with all the soldiers as records were hard to come by over there. So I sent Don a box full of 45's which included my very first 45 I received as a young teenager, it was The Lion Sleeps Tonight by the Tokens which came out in 1961 and became a number one hit at the time. I know he always had a love of planes right from the moment I met him and am glad that this love took him to a long career in aviation. Don took me on my first airplane ride in a small airplane, which I did not enjoy, thru no fault of Don. My condolences to his loving family and may they find peace in their hearts after losing Don, but always having fond memories of him as a husband and father. Dorie Maffetone (Phoenix, Arizona)

I just learned of Don's passing while talking with another former American Eagle pilot this morning. I am shocked and saddened to learn of Don's passing. We were both part of the Command Airways family in the 1980s, and Don was liked and respected by everyone who worked with him. My condoloences to Don's family.

I was a flight attendant for Command AIrways and flew with Don many years ago. I live here in NC and ran into him a few years back . So surprised to see him. He looked the same . We had a nice chat.
My prayers are with your family and I hope your wonderful memories will help to get you through this difficult time.

I'm sad to learn today that Don passed. Although I hadn't seen him in many years I'll always remember him. We worked together at Command Airways in the 80's. My deepest sympathies to his family

I worked with Don at PNC and always enjoyed our conversations. I was shocked when I learned earlier this year that he was sick. My experience with individuals on the spectrum and my love of cats will lead me to make donations in Don's memory to the above organizations. My condolences to the family.

Don and I were in agility class together for a couple of years. He and Nani always had a good time running the courses. We will miss seeing him in class. My condolences to his family.
