Doctor Landgraf was my idea of what a doctor should be. Very caring and thoughtful. He was truly committed to helping you get well and able to function again as a useful person. I truly believe that when you were in pain he felt also. I really miss his smiling face.

Dr Landgraf delivered both my children and was my physician as a child. He was the best docter I ever had. We moved too far to use him any longer. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He is truly one of a kind and will be missed.

I received a letter in the mail today letting me know Dr Landgraf had passed. He was such a great person and the best doctor I've ever had! Ill miss chit chatting with him about the college i attended and his jokes he made about it! :) My kids, who are younger, loved going to my appointments with me, they loved talking to him and getting a sucker at the end of the visit! He was such a personable doctor and will truly be missed! My kids will be so sad when I tell them the news today! R.I.p. to the greatest doctor ever!

Rose, Bob, Jim and Mike,
I am saddened to hear about Don. The Landraf family should feel extremly fortunate that you were able to spend your days with such a great person. Personally I hope I didn't add too much stress to his life 25+ years ago, when Jim and I would get into a little trouble now and then.
Your legacy is the great family that you and Rose created.

February 16, 2012

Dr. Landgraf became my doctor when I was 11 years old. I am now 59. He delivered my son 38 years ago and my husand and family looked to him for all of our medical needs. For many years I had him promise he would never retire, because we would not be able to replace him. Dr. Landgraf was kind, compassionate, affectionate and the rarest of rare in the medical community. He is loved and will be greatly missed.

so very sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Landgraf. He truly was one in a million! Dr. Landgraf delivered my oldest son. When he deliverd Andrew, he gave my mom a chance to hold her new grandson and let her walk him to the nursery. He was such a compassionate, kind, gentle man. I moved away and to this day, I remember his bedside manner. Never made u feel like a number but his friend. My heart and prayers go out to his family. God Bless...Lisa Waranka (Agathen)

Kathleen Tobin Nelson

February 12, 2012

The Tobin family had the good fortune of living across the street from Dr.Landgraf. I remember when I was just a kid he came rushing over with his black bag to take care of us, his wife Rose was a Saint raising their three boys at the time.
Over the years he took care of my children and I as well. No matter what the case, he could always make us smile.
He was a kind soul and a wonderful doctor.
Thank you Dr.Landgraf for being there for many generations!

Mr Doctor and friend for 40 years.

February 9, 2012

I am so sorry to hear of Dr.Landgrafs passing.Dr. Landgraf was my doctor for 42yrs., he's the only doctor I knew. He has been our doctor for 4 generations so he was more than a doctor, he was truly a friend. He was the best doctor in the world. I'm sure going to miss his stories and jokes. I loved that Dr.Landgraf was an old fashion doctor, he never looked at his watch to see if your 15 min.'s were up, he took his time with his patients and got to know them personally. He would always ask how the family is doing, what's new ect. I loved seeing the look on his face when he would come back from a vacation (which seemed to me he didn't take enough of), he would talk about his family and fishing and how lucky he was to have such a wonderful wife. Dr.Landgraf, you will truly be missed.

Dr. Landgraf was the best, He was my family doctor for 30years. I can't imagine having another like him. I loved the fact that he was so down to earth and made my doctor visits at ease.He helped bring my son into this world 24yrs ago and actually put humor into my delivery which helped me out. As others have mentioned he is 1 in a million and I will truly miss him. I dont think I'll find another doctor to fill his shoes.God Bless Him And His Family.

Duct Tape
I searched the Milwaukee area for a Dr. when I arrived in 1997. I found a few and was quickly turned off by the impersonal attitudes and complete lack of bedside skills. I knew Dr. Landgraf was my doctor when he called me back to his evaluation room personally and sat down on a rolling stool patched with duct tape. This was Dr. Landgraf. He put the needs of his patients well in front of the petty superficial things and made his relationship with each of his patients the most important task at hand. God Bless you and I will miss you.

Jennifer Schramm

February 7, 2012

Our family is very sorry to hear of Dr. Landgraf's passing. My in-laws knew him when he first opened his practice on Hampton. When he wasn't busy he'd play catch with my husband who was about 8 at the time. And of course, as it is well known, he made house calls. My husband's grandmother couldn't always come to him so he would go to her and he was there when she passed away at home. Dr. Landgraf was my OB doctor and when it came time to deliver, there were complications and a specialist was called in, eventually a C-section was performed, but Dr. Landgraf stayed at the hospital all day taking care of my husband and mother. He was one in a million and there isn't anyone like him. Unfortunately medicine has become more of a business and doctors like Dr. Landgraf are a thing of the past. He will be greatly missed. Again our deepest sympathies, the Toussaint & Schramm families

Now he can rest up in Heaven with Jesus. God Bless you and your family. From

The world just lost a great humanitarian. Our city just lost a great doctor. But the greatest indicator of the positive impact Donald Landgraf had on this earth is that a thousand people feel like they have just lost a best friend. A man is not measured by the amount of money that he makes but rather by the amount of people who call him friend. Using this standard of measurement, Dr. Landgraf was a giant of a man. Thank-you for the stitches on my knee when I cut it playing army in your backyard. Thank-you for delivering my eldest son, Robby. Thank-you for your compassionate and empathetic approach to any problem presented to you. As any patient of Dr. Landgraf would attest, thank-you just doesn't seem sufficient for a man who dedicated his life to the service of others. Every memory of you and your family is a fond and treasured one.

It makes me very sad to hear of Dr.Landgraf's death. He has been my doctor for many years...he was always so kind and caring...my very own "Dr.Welby". He had a wonderful sense of humor and I always felt I was visiting a friend when I came to see him. I have the utmost respect for him...as a nurse, I have seen all kinds of doctors and he was one in a million. He will be greatly missed. I appreciate the kindness of his staff as well...my heart goes out to you and his family.

Where do I begin to tell the story of such a great husband, father, grandfather, and DOCTOR. Dr. Landgraf was the kindest doctor we have ever known. He always put others before himself. He was our family doctor for many years, and I still can't believe he is gone. There is no replacement for Dr. Landgraf, at least not on this earth, and my heart goes out to Rose and his boys and extended family. Dr. Landgraf truly was an 'angel' here on earth, and we were truly blessed by our heavenly father to have him as our doctor. Rest in peace, and we will see you as a bright star shining up in heaven watching over us. We loved you.

How many doctors mean so much to so many people? We've moved out of the area, but Dr. Landgraf was my family's doctor for many years, starting waaay back in the 1960's when I was just five. He took care of my little sister when she became ill with kidney disease, put up with my father and even delivered two of my children as well as being their pediatricians when they were little. He was truly a great man.

When a doctor looks at you, and says how are you? And really cares, is priceless! That was Dr. Landgraf! When your little son runs to him, and he picks him up, and tells everyone in his office this is my smallest patient, born at 1lb. And look at him now!
As he holds him, with pride and love in his heart!, that is Dr. Landgraf! I will never forget, the love he has shown through the years to me and my family! One life has touched so many, we will remember him always, with love and great respect!

Dr. Landgraf was an amazing man. He delivered my two oldest children who are now 26 and 24. I worked with him at CMH and while there, he told me that if someone called him about a patient who was anxious in the middle of the night he would ask them, "well have you tried holding her hand, or bringing her a warm blanket or giving her a hug or some reassurance that everything was going to be alright?". Can't you just picture him saying that? What a kind, loving man. You will be missed by so many, but I am so grateful to have you up in heaven with all those special people I love. God Bless you and your family. You will be missed.

The world lost a humanitarian... a community leader... and an all-around great guy. Dr. Landgraf was the type of doctor that would always be running late... because he gave all of his patients all of his attention. He took the time to listen.

I never complained about his schedule... because I knew he was giving the person ahead of me the same attention I would eventually receive. I was fortunate to be one of his patients. God bless him and his family.

My sister's sentiments are so true. Dr. Landgraf was a wonderful man; so patient, kind, and a fantastic doctor. He cared for our mom, dad, and the two of us for many years. He set the bar for what patient care should be in my mind, and no doctor that I have seen over the years has managed to live up to his excellent standard of care and, more importantly, caring. My thoughts are with you, and I am terribly sorry for your loss.

Dr. Landgraf was an kind, funny, intelligent, and decent man as well as an amazing doctor. He delivered all three of my children. I could tell many stories about him taking our calls at odd hours, coming in to the hospital on Sundays or evenings to give stiches or a cast, and his terrific empathy. He knew each patient well and always cared about both your physical and emotional health. He will be missed terribly. He was a very rare and exceptional doctor and human being. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and patients at this time.
