Our first memories of Don Lowe, are, I worked for Sears, and had a boat for sale. Don walked into our office and called my name. I KNEW who he was and it scared me to death. He asked questions about the boat, and, arrangement were made (many years ago), for us to meet he and his wife on Belews Lake for them to look at it.
Unknown to Mr. Lowe was the dock was a floating dock. After we had been out on the boat, as we were gliding in, he jumped on the dock, and fell flat on his back. Fortunately he fell in the middle of the dock! A close call as, had he fell on the edge, bad things could have happened. His wife laughed heartedly. My husband and I went home and took aspirin as it scared us to death. Our first meeting of a true gentleman! Fortunately, he did NOT buy the boat, as a storm months later came up and 7 boats sank (ours included)!
Deepest sympathy to all of Dons family, A nicer person and our Boss at Sears who held the utmost respect from everyone I knew. Carolyn Cayton (Stokesdale, N.C.

Aunt Treva and family,

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Don. It hasn't been quite a year since his sister passed. May the wonderful memories you have give you comfort at this time. I know that I will never forget "King Donald". Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

Love to all.
