Mactavish, Donald J. Passed away peacefully on June 13, 2007 with his loving family by his side at the age of 60 years. Devoted husband of Alexandra (nee Liolios), with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage. Beloved father of Victoria and David Ponterio, and Zoe and Scott Robinson. Cherished Papou of Alexandra Robinson and Ella Ponterio. Survived by two brothers David and Doug Mactavish. Loved son-in-law of Zoi and John Liolios. Donald will be missed by several nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives and friends. Mr. Mactavish retired as Special Projects Editor with The Windsor Star. He will be remembered for his generous spirit and great wit. A skilled carpenter and computer enthusiast, he was always willing to lend a hand to friends, family and the community. He was also an avid reader, with a great love of both the written and spoken word. He will be sorely missed. It is with great sadness I learned of Don's passing yesterday. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend and always willing to lend a hand. I often told him I had the best neighbors in Canada of any of the 8 locations I have previously resided. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know Don is looking down from a better place now without pain.
