Donald R. Marine

Zionsville - Donald Ray Marine, age 94, passed away on February 7, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He lived and worked in the Peoria, Illinois, area for most of his professional life, dedicating himself to education, the arts, and, above all, his family.

Donald taught speech and theatre at Richwoods High School, Illinois Central College, and Bradley University, where he influenced and inspired generations of students. His passion for theatre extended well beyond the classroom and into the community. He directed and performed in numerous productions at Cornstock Theatre and The Peoria Players, leaving a lasting mark on the local arts scene.

His arrangements were entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, Zionsville Chapel in Zionsville, Indiana.

In addition to his work in education and theatre, Donald spent part of his career at Caterpillar in corporate communications, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and dedication.

Donald deeply enjoyed retirement with his beloved wife, Barb, in Sun City, Arizona. Together, they spent their time playing golf and tennis and attending concerts and theatrical performances, sharing a vibrant and active life until Barb's untimely passing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Marine, and his brother, Merle Marine. Together, Donald and Barb were remarkable examples of how to build a strong, loving, and close-knit family-a legacy that continues through generations.

Donald is survived by his children, Mike Marine, Mitch Marine, and Laura McMahan; his grandchildren, Alex Marine, Nathan Marine, Emma McMahan, and Liam McMahan; and his great-grandchildren, Ruby Jane Marine and Nora Jo Marine.

Donald will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his passion for teaching and theatre, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
