Great & special guy! Lots of fond memories of countless hours spent with him in the late fifties(Cass of 60). They kept me busy with other sports and never even told me three was a golf team! Sorry I wasn't around for the last fifty+ years. I would have enjoyed knowing him. Rest in Peace coach!

Donna, my condolences go out to you and your family. I have many great memories of Coach. As a freshman I got called up to one of his first JV basketball teams, and he taught me a lot about the game and life. I remember him wearing his Augsburg Letter Jacket with pride and how great a player he was. The photo I've attached, is my favorite of Coach. It was taken in March of 1961 just after we had won Mound's First District 18 Championship. It shows both Coach Hadden and Coach Reimer, along with Co-Captains Dave Lange and myself, doing what they liked best, coaching.
We will all miss him.

I had Mr Reimer for history in the late 80s and also went on a trip to DC with him as part of Know America. I will always remember him as one of my favorite teachers-one who inspired me to be a teacher. What a fabulous influence he had on so many through the years!

I had Mr Reimer as a teacher in the 80's; he was a great teacher and a wonderful man. He would stand outside his classroom door in between classes saying hello to students. My dad had died the year before, and on more than one occasion he gave me a hug right there in the hallway when I needed one!

My sympathies. I just ran across a memento he gave me in high school last week and smiled knowing he was always on my side sending me off into the world.

I'd like to express my sincere condolences to the Reimer extended family for your loss. I was a student at Mound High School back in the early 60's, and although I didn't have Mr. Reimer for a classroom teacher, I did have him for a coach in basketball and golf. He was always a kind and caring person and a great role model. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Jeff Light

He was my history teacher in the early 1980s. He was a very honorable man and did much to promote knowledge of American History within the schools often in original ways.
He was also a great athlete and is in the Augsburg College Hall of Fame. I'm glad he was finally able to play golf year round.
Sympathy to the family.

Dear Donna, Cyndi and Paul,
We are so sorry for your loss. Don was a golfing friend of ours for years when we belonged to Burl Oaks. He was such a neat fellow and, of course, a super golfer. We send our sympathy to all of you. Blessings and Peace

I had Mr. Reimer for history and spent four years on the golf team, which he coached. I also saw him occasionally out at Timber Creek golf in later years. My deepest sympathy to the entire Reimer family.

A wonderful teacher, coach and all-around good guy. He touched so many lives while teaching and had a profound impact on many of them. I'm sure he will be missed and remembered.

I didn't have Mr. Reimer for a teacher but had him for JV BB coach. I remember him as a really good basketball player - extremely fast. He was a good coach.
My special memory of him was when I got my drivers license in Nov when I turned 15, but had not taken drivers training. I signed up for it the next summer to reduce auto insurance rate and Mr. Reimer was my instructor. My drivers training consisted of driving to St. Cloud with him so he could sign up for a golf tournament. I got my hours in and received good highway driving instruction.
My deepest sympathy to his family as he was really a quality guy and a special part of the Mound Mohawk legacy.

I think Don's first coaching job was at Mound where he coached the JV. I was a member of this team. I remember what a great basketball player he was. A couple of years ago, I played golf with Don at a member/guest event. He played very well. He will be missed by many. My condolences to his family. Dave Perbix Mesa, AZ

I worked for Mound Schools from 1969-1979 and fondly remember Don as a personable, kind and patient man. He had to be patient because he gave beginners golf lessons to groups of inept and non-talented women, including me! As I look at his picture, I can still see the handsome man and friendly smile that I remember.

I was also one of Mr. Reimer's students in 1957-58. As I told the rest of my classmates, I'll always remember him as being one of the nicest & one of the best looking teachers I ever had. Many of us girls had a crush on him. So sorry for your loss. Faye (Ohmann) Bennett

Donna and kids,
Got this from another 63 Mound graduate, Jeff Light. Brought back lots of memories for both Diane(Donlevy) and me. You probably don't remember, but when I was in 8th grade I mowed your lawn all summer to earn my first set of irons(wooden shafts) from Don. I always wanted to be in his class, but he taught advanced courses, and I never qualified. He was my golf coach for all four years I played on the team. I can't imagine how many rounds of golf I played with him at both Lakeview and Burl.
You had another teacher renting your downstairs, but I don't remember his name. Diane remembers babysitting your kids. In fact, she was babysitting them the day her father died in 1962.
I also remember carrying out your groceries at the Piggly Wiggly.
Anyway, so sorry to hear about Don. He was a big influence on me. A VERY honorable man.

I want to send my deepest sympathy to the Reimer family. I had Him for a teacher and would see him in Mound and would talk to him. I loved having as a teacher. He was an awesome person.
