Belated but heartfelt condolences from one of Don's colleagues. He was already a towering figure in the AP bureau when I arrived in 1976, and his stature only grew in the following decades. A role model in many ways -- including walking to work!

Offering my deepest condolences during this difficult time, I'm so very sorry for your loss, death is something we are never prepared for, but please find comfort in knowing God has promised He will do away with sickness, pain and death for His word is truth.

I am very sorry for your lost. God lets us know that he will sustain us. All we have to do is draw close to him in prayer. May your family gain comfort from Gods word.

We will dearly miss him , we will not for get him , hope fully we see him soon.

I remember Don vividly from the 1960s and his excellent reporting on organized crime. He was a great reporter and a very fine man. My condolences to his family.
