Donald Richard Schaffner, aged 83, passed away on October 24, 2024, in Mission Viejo, California. Born on February 19, 1941, in Troy, Ohio, Donald was a lifelong learner and an enthusiast of the outdoors.

After completing his early education at Elizabeth Elementary and Miami East High School in Ohio, Donald furthered his studies at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. His academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements and personal pursuits.

Donald was passionate about sailing and motor vehicles, hobbies that reflected his love for adventure and mechanics. These interests not only brought him joy but also allowed him to connect with others who shared his passions, creating lifelong friendships and memories.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Schaffner, married for 59 years; sons, Chris and David Schaffner; and grandchildren, Benjamin, Charlotte, Olive, and Olson Schaffner. Also survived by his brother Paul E. and sister-in-law Betty Schaffner. Donald's legacy is cherished by his family, who remember him as a guiding light and a source of unwavering support.

Donald's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his passion for his hobbies, and his commitment to education. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
