Reverend Dr. Donald Arthur Weems

Donald Weems was a good friend of mine growing up in Decatur, Georgia. We graduated from Decatur Boys High School in 1949. His family has my sincere sympathy.

I am filled with sadness at the passing of Don but am also filled with the love and light he shared with me and so many others. He was my pastor and a father figure who helped shaped who I am now. I will carry his light with me to the end of my days.

My heart is saddened with the passing of a wonderful man. I was very blessed to be part of Trinity youth group while in high school. The mission trips we took have always been part of what helped me become who I am today and with out Don, they would not have been the same.

I was blessed to be part of his son Todd's life and sorry that my life took me away from St. Louis as it also took me away from Trinity Church and the Weems Family. I will always remember all of the wonderful times I had with Don and wish his family my sincere condolences. I also will never forget Todd

Dear Stuart, David, and Heather: sorry I can't be with you at this time, your second loss in just so few weeks. Please accept my sincere, sympathy, love and prayers in the loss your parents both in the same year. David and Heather, having been you fifth grade teacher I was witness to the results of the love your parents had for their four children. Although I can't be there Saturday. my thoughts and prayers will be there with you.

As we celebrate Don's life, we celebrate a moment in time...a God moment...and give thanks for someone who so strongly influenced our beliefs and faith. We celebrate his brilliant leadership and ability to empower each person to find their path to sharing their God-given gifts. We witnessed and were part of a magical time at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The holy spirit was in our midst and continues in each of us as we move forward. Love and Shalom to the Weems family and all those who remember Don and our lives together. xxx

My childhood was enriched by the fundamental foundation which Don Weems and Trinity Church gave to me and my family. A foundation of deep humanity and true Christianity which continues to support my life today, and for which I will always be grateful. My love and condolences to the Weems family.

Don Weems was wholely holy and warmly human. Seriously committed to God , but devilishly humorous. A driven leader, but not a pusher. He was my great true friend and inspiration. It is sad to give him up, but he well deserves to now dwell for eternity in the bosom of God.
