Donald Wickstrom Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Jun. 8, 2016.
Donald Wickstrom January 8, 1936 - May 13, 2016 The family of Don Wickstrom is sad to announce his passing on May 13, 2016, at Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville, B.C. Don was born in Alert Bay, B.C. on January 8, 1936 and grew up in Port McNeil, B.C. Predeceased by his wife Sally and daughter Donna, he leaves behind his daughter Kathy, son Danny (Jessica), son Gordon (Audrey) and sister Gertrude. He will also be missed by his several grandchildren and other family members. Don made the most of every moment in life and during his illness never spoke of a bad day. Don worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for many years and later became a dedicated instructor at BCIT where he passed on his vast knowledge to future mechanics. He was also an avid fisherman and gold prospector, always looking for the next bonanza. A service for Don will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 11040 River Road, Delta, B.C. on June 11 at 2 p.m.

I spent a short time with Don, a character and story teller!
As an artist it was my pleasure to spend time with Don on the BC Queen and record his wonderful face and personality.
