Don English was the first person I talked to when my wife and I returned from Texas. I was seeking his advice as to where I should seek employment and he was nice enough to give me his candid observations. Sometimes salespeople need to be reminded to be nice, not Don, he was nice! I'm sure he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

I KNEW DON THROUGH THE KOREAN WAR VETERANS ASSN AND I TALKED TO HIM ABOUT TWICE A YEAR WHEN HE COULDN'T ATTEND MEETINGS. HE WAS A REALLY NICE PERSON AND WILL BE MISSED BY US. I WAS HONORED TO KNOW HIM.

Jon & Jeff, What a shock to read Don's obituary, and am so sorry for your loss and send my prayers and love to you both. He was a generous, funny man who loved and lived life to the end with gusto. Will miss our lunches to remember Wanda & my Fred and the many memories we all shared.
God Bless

I also served on the USS SUSSEX-AK213 during the Korean war. I Would like a relative to call me to see if we may have been shipmates. Great memories!

Remember meeting your father Don English when my husband remembered serving with him on the Sussex and we finally met when he sponsered a reunion of different Susses members. He will be able to meet his wife Wanda and my husband Harold (who is also buried in the same area at Willamette). They can now all share stories of their military days.
