Thinking of you Cindy,Dana,Grant and families,
and thinking too, of Auntie Donna and the hectic, full life she led -- she added sparkle to this world. One of her many, many strengths was her mastery of multitasking. I remember my mom sharing how amazed she was with this ability of Donna's -- she'd witnessed it first hand -- Christmas cookies baking, laundry on the go, sewing machine (on the kitchen table) with an elaborate dance costume on the make, phone ringing...and Donna still entertaining and lovely. What would drive some women insane -- never fazed Donna. We loved her sense of humor, her style and will always be thankful for memories of the shananigans Auntie and Uncle Ivan shared. Bless their hearts. We just plain loved them.
With kind regards and love,
George and Shirley and girls

Dear Cynthia, Marc, Daniel and Chad,
We were saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. While Barry and I only met Donna on a couple of occassions we heard many stories of her from Nick. After all, she was Nick's Canadian Grandma.
Nick enjoyed the many visits with Donna and the family to the lake and marvelled at how the whole family, aunts, uncles, cousins, embraced him. Donna always treated him like another grandson. He would always come back with stories of Donna's wonderful and legendary cooking.
Donna was truly an inspiration to us in the way that she loved her family.
I know that you will all miss Mom and Grandma but what wonderful memories you have of your time together.
with love,
Bridget, Barry and Nick

Donna taught me everything I know about business. I worked for her for a year out of high school. I can't help remember back in the day when stores were not open on Sundays. Halloween, that year fell on a Saturday with costumes to be returned the following day. 2 days later a young man came in to return his costume late. Donna patiently explained to him that he would not be receiving his deposit back as the costume was late in being returned. The young man got quite angry and told Donna he was going to sue the store as it wasn't even suppose to be open on Sunday. Donna never lost her patience or composure but did chuckle a bit and said "Young man, we were not open on Sunday to take your money.....we actually wanted to give it back!" She was outrageous, loving, intelligent and warmly welcomed everyone in the dance world into her store. If she didn't have what you were looking for, she would find something close. She was one of a kind and I will think of her often with a smile.
xoxo to all her loving family

found an empty space
He then looked down up on the earth
and saw your tired face
He put His arms around you and

There never has nor will there ever be another woman like Donna a woman of elegance, grace and strength that ran her business with confidence and invaluable knowledge and put up with no nonsense yet had the softest heart when it came to her family and friends.Donna I have admired you for all the years that we have been in the textile industry and guess we were both of the same mindset when it came to running it.After meeting Donna and knowing her loving family, you were all blessed with this incredible woman that I have always admired. My heart breaks for your loss but the world was a better place with Donna in it.From myself and the staff at Olgas Fabric Lane we extend our heartfelt sympathy !

Donna WAS TRULY A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH AS A FRIEND AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATE. WE WORKED TOGETHER FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND AS I WATCHED THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPANY AND DONNA'S UNIQUE WAY OF DEALING WITH SUPPLIERS (ME!) AND CUSTOMER IT WAS NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHY SHE WAS SO SUCCESSFUL AND RESPECTED BY ALL SHE CAME IN CONTACT WITH. I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO SEEING HER ON MY VISITS TO CALGARY AND WILL MISS HER STERN , FAIR AND FRIENDLY WAY.

Good Morning Girls – I am very sad to hear the news about Donna. I got a note last night about her passing and am selfishly sad about losing a great friend, business associate and mentor, but my thoughts immediately turn to you guys and your families who lost a mother, grandmother and friend.
I remember early in my years of dealing with Donna how intimidating and scary she was to work with, but as time progressed and I fought through that tough exterior I discovered a caring, supportive friend who would always have time for me. There will be a lot of people with a lot of stories as she definitely was remembered by everyone who met her.
Unfortunately, I will be away this Friday for the funeral but I will take a moment to remember Donna and pray for you all. I will give you a call in the next couple of weeks when things calm down a bit.
Best Regards,
Scott

Dear Linda, Cindy and families
Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel. From the beginning of our relationship with Donna we learned to respect her knowledge of the business, her character and her integrity. However, her greatest gift was her friendship.
Life is eternal, love is immortal and death is only a horizon; nothing save the limit of our sight.
She will be greatly missed.
Sincerely
So Dança's family!!
