To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Paul, Austin and Leslie,
Donna was such a great friend to me and my family, you know this. You both loved my son as your own and I loved your kids the same. I think Donna would be proud but a little embarassed by the amount of people who turned out for the visitation and funeral as she did not like being the center of attention, so modest and graceful about everything. She made her problems seem insignificant and everyone else's so important. What a legacy she leaves behind. I realize that it is going to be so hard in the coming weeks and months but know, Austin and Leslie, that your mother instilled in you such tremendous values and that she still lives through you. We love you all and am praying for you daily. Your mother was very unique everyone thought they were her best friend. I see so much of her in you kids. She and Paul have done a beautiful job with you kids. We love you all and if you need me, you know I will be right there for you.

I have never before meet a more beautiful godly person. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I want to share a poem we used at my mothers memorial service- To those I love and Those Who Love Me.
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You musn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be thankful for our beautiful years.
I gave to you my love. You can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love each have shown.
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only time that we must part.
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you, soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile, and say
"Welcome Home!"

Paul,Austin,Leslie, Miss Othal and Mr Lester, I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers and if I can do anything please let me know, it would be an honor and a priviledge to do my part to help Donna's family in anyway I can. I love Donna so very much. People like me are a little rough spoken and hard around the edges and most people may rightly be put off by that, but not Donna, Donna made me feel so loved and cared for and special from the moment we first met. Her sweet soft loving spirit soothes all my rough edges and makes me want to be as kind and loving as her. She was and will always be a very special lady to all who knew her. I love her and will miss her greatly. Every thought and memory of her I have includes love, smiles, laughter, her family, her church, her faith in God, and her soft kind heart. A beautiful wife, mother, daughter, friend and christian who will be missed by all. I love you all and will pray for ya'll and again I am so sorry for your loss and promise to do my best to keep her loving legacy alive. Donna is a true light of love, joy, and happiness that will never go out.

I have followed Donna from afar for several years through friends and local family. It was, after all, just a couple of years ago wasn't it, that I babysat with Joe, Mark and Donna as just kids? I am not sure where time goes, but I am sure that Donna spent her time on earth touching the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. God had a plan when he sent her here, and she carried it out even to her last days. My heart goes out to you all, and I will keep you each in my prayers.

I could never explain what an inspiration Donna was to everyone she met. The crowd tonight was just a small testament to the lives she touched in her special way. She wil be greatly missed but always alive in our hearts and memories. Our prayers are with you all.

I will never forget the love and concern Donna gave me when my daughter Emily was killed in a car accident. I remember I saw her at the Halloween carnival at the church. I had not seen her in many years but as we began talking she told me that she had thought of me often and had said many prayers for me. I was very touched it was as if she knew my pain of losing my daughter. We talked for a short while longer of the people we knew in school and of having another class reunion and then said our good-bys. I have not forgotten our chance meeting at the carnival for God puts special people in our paths the help heal our sorrows and he put Donna in my path that night.
My deepest sympathies go out to the family for another daughter lost, but also a sister, mother and most of all a friend. Donna, say hello to Emily for me, you will be missed.
