Donna Conn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 21, 2023.
Donna Florence Conn died serenely at home on March 16, 2023.

Born in Montana in 1935, Donna spent her teenage years in Australia before returning to Northern California where she graduated from Notre Dame Belmont and began working at Stanford University Hospital. Soon after she met the love of her life, Walter Joseph Conn and they were married in 1957 and moved to Germany where Walter served in the Army for six years and she acted as a translator.

Upon returning to Los Angeles, Donna focused on starting a family and being a devoted mother to her three children; Walter Jr., Patrick and Eileen and grandmother to Tucker and Isabella. Donna was a woman of many talents and passions including horseback riding and worldwide travels. Her warm and welcoming personality meant that she made friends wherever she went, and her interest in learning new languages, including Mandarin which she studied at UCLA and the Monterey Institute of International Studies, allowed her to connect with people from all walks of life. As a gracious and generous host, Donna also loved to bring people together and was involved in numerous charities.

Donna will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of warmth and generosity will live on in the memories of those whose lives she touched.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 29th at 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1501 Freemont Ave., South Pasadena. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Society Devoted to the Sacred Heart https://sacredheartsisters.com or Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles www.carmelitesistersocd.com

My warmest wishes to Walter, Patrick an Eileen. Both of your parents were very pivotal in my life. I worked at Charles Dunn for 10 years and both of them were always very supportive and gracious. I admired them both very much and was very blessed to have had the opportunity to know them.

Dear Walt, Eileen and Patrick,
Ronnie and I were so sad to hear about your mother's passing. Among her many talents and gifts, she was an amazing mother who raised three fantastic kids. I know she will always be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
With heartfelt condolences,
Bonnie and Ronnie Fein

Mrs. Conn was my patient as a home health nurse for 2 years and 3 more years thereafter as her private visiting nurse. She was a sweet, pleasant and very cooperative lady. She always had a smile on her face during my visit with her. She will surely be missed.
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. May God´s peace, comfort and strength be upon you and your family. My sincere condolences to you all.

Dear Walt,
No son could have made his parents prouder with your heart and passion for life, your pride as a father yourself and your warrior fight to live now and beat this cancer. I will light candle for you and your mother today, sending you all my love and condolences.
