Donna Garcia Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 12, 2025.
Donna Rosita Garcia, 70, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, in her hometown of Grand Junction, CO. Born on April 26, 1954, also in Grand Junction, Donna lived a life rooted in compassion, generosity, and deep connections with those around her.

Donna was known for her unwavering dedication to helping others. She spent many years as a caregiver, offering comfort and support to those in need. She was the kind of person who would give her last dime if it meant easing someone else's burden.

Donna's love extended far beyond immediate family. Her warmth and loyalty created bonds that transcended bloodlines. She helped raise many children in which they saw Donna as an aunt and even a second mom.

She was also an active member of the Eagles Aerie 595 in Grand Junction, where she volunteered for numerous events over the years.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Antonio "Tone" Garcia-Gutierrez, Orlando Ortiz and Vivian Garcia; her siblings: Nancy Vargas, Jennie Maes, Martin Garcia, and Frank Garcia; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart.

Donna now joins her beloved parents Lawrence and Patsy Garcia; her sister Theresa Garcia; and brother Larry Garcia in eternal rest.

A Rosary will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church located at 230 N. 3rd St., Grand Junction, Colorado 81501. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location. Later that day, friends and family are invited to celebrate Donna's life from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Eagles Aerie 595 at 1674 US-50, Grand Junction, Colorado 81503.

In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation for her services by calling Snyder Memorials at (970) 242-2020

Prima Donna, I was blessed to encounter you in 2020. I was visibly upset and crying about my sister Carmen passing. You gave me a hug and didn´t let go until I felt better. You made over my son Michael too. I thank you for comfort and joy you gave to all that surrounded you.

I was saddened when I heard about my cousin´s passing. But reading the words of praise and kindness describing Donna makes me proud to be her cousin.
The description of Donna is the way I remember her growing up with such a loving heart and kindness exuding from her very soul.
I ran into her and her son when I was visiting Grand Junction one day and the memories I have of them both are of kind and respectful individuals.
Rest in eternal peace with the relatives who went before you and I will see you again.
Love your cousin Connie Carbajal-Dalrymple
