I am so glad that Donna Hoffman`s teaching career was in Clearwater. Four of our five children started school with her as their teacher, and she was just wonderful. They and their friends thought the sun rose and set because of Mrs Huffman. I enjoyed volunteering in her classroom sometimes and was amazed by how she moved seamlessly from singing a song to reading a story to cooking to resting, etc.
I also substitute taught for Donna a few times and that was not easy because she was just about perfect one time a little boy tried his best to tell me that we weren´t doing things the way Mrs. Huffman does them - finally he threw up his hands and sighed and put his head down on his desk in frustration!
My sympathies to Donna´s family I know what a huge loss you must feel because she was a really special person.

I am one of 3 people who was blessed to call Donna Huffman, Mom. My sweet mom was a master teacher. She taught thousands of children they were important and God loved them. Mom taught me many valuable life lessons. Most were taught by her example- how to respect everyone, how to organize and over think everything, how to work hard, but most importantly to love and put God and family first. Besides her gift of teaching, the other characteristic that made her stand out was her gift of encouragement. She encouraged everyone she touched to do their best. She was an encourager her whole life. Even when her physical body started wearing out she found a way to minister by writing thousands of cards and text. I´m still working on mastering that gift, but in her honor, I would ask you to look for ways to love and encourage those around you. I will always miss my mom but I will forever be grateful for all she taught me.

What a shining light we all lost! Donna had a special gift of encouragement that endeared her to us. We were on the receiving end of that encouragement for many years, but particularly as a young family on the mission field in Uganda. Larry - wish we could make it to the funeral, but we are in TX right now. We are both donating to HHI and sending flowers to honor this special lady. May God grant you peace and the sweetest memories.

Denise and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Your mother was such a remarkable person, and I know how much she meant to all of you. During this time of sorrow, may you find strength in the love and memories you shared with her. My heart goes out to you, and I´m keeping you all in my thoughts, and prayers.

First let me say, I truely came to love Donna. She reached out to me because of assorted health conditions we shared. Well If you knew Donna then I am sure at one time or another you got a card from her in the mail. When Donna would send me a card I always got such a kick out of her signiture because after her name she would put in parentheses (Denise's mother). I told her I knew exactly who she was but she insisted on signing my card that way so I started signing as (Denise's friend) until the whole thing morphed into me signing as (Your friend). I will miss her as well but we all know she has her reward now. She ran a good race and I for one was blessed to know Donna Huffman.
