Donna Hurd

Donna Marie (Theriault) Hurd, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Kenduskeag, Maine, on January 15, 2025. She was born on September 20, 1943, in Old Town, Maine, to Clarence Theriault and Dorothy (Cyr) Theriault.

At the age of 17, Donna married Elwin L. Hurd Sr., with whom she shared 40 years of marriage until his passing in 2001. A devoted wife and hardworking partner, Donna spent many years assisting her husband in the hay fields and tending to their farm. She also found joy in gardening and preparing homemade meals for her family and friends. As her children grew older and took up hunting, Donna would spend hours processing deer meat and making large pots of mincemeat-a testament to her dedication and love for her family. Her talent for cooking and warm hospitality created cherished memories for all who gathered around her table.

Donna was the mother of six children: Elwin Hurd Jr. and spouse Debra of Bangor, Jeffrey Hurd and spouse Melissa of Glenburn, Glenn Hurd and spouse Cheryl of Kenduskeag, Kerry Hurd and spouse Michelle of Bucksport, Craig Hurd of Kenduskeag, and Kathy Hurd of Bangor. She was a beloved grandmother to many grandchildren: Elwin III, Tyler, Tristan, Hunter, Meadow, Forest, Hayley, Hannah, Zachary, Ava, Victoria Hurd; Diana and Katrina Patterson; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her brother Bruce Theriault and his wife Brenda and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

She was predeceased by her husband Elwin L. Hurd Sr., grandson Kerry Hurd, and brother Joey Theriault. The family extends special thanks to her grandson Elwin for always being by her side until the end.

Services will be announced at a later date. Donna's kindness and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
