In Loving Memory of Donna Ochs Kackman

November 12, 1933 - June 28, 2025

Donna Ochs Kackman passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Danville California, at the age of 91. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and friend, Donna lived a life filled with compassion, love and service to others.

Born on November 12, 1933, to David and Emilie Ochs, both now deceased, Donna grew up with a strong sense of purpose and a nurturing spirit that would define her life. She graduated in 1954 from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Denver and later furthered her education by earning a Bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration from St. Mary's College in 1984.

Donna dedicated more than 30 years of her life to nursing and caregiving, touching countless lives with her gentle hands and kind heart. Her deep love of caregiving extended beyond her professional life, as she lovingly raised four children: Bruce (Min), Gregg (Betsy), Jeff, and Kimberly Bongi (Tom). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to 14 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold H. Kackman, with whom she shared a love of travel and a beautiful life filled with shared adventures. Donna had an incredible zest for life and was known for her uplifting presence, boundless creativity, and unwavering positivity. Her nurturing soul brought comfort and joy to everyone she encountered.

Donna cherished time spent with her grandchildren, embraced every moment with joy, and found beauty in the simple things. She loved everyone and everything she did - a true testament to a life well lived.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Visiting Angels www.VisitingAngelsFoundation.org honoring Donna's legacy of caregiving and compassion.

Donna's light lives on in the hearts of those she loved and cared for. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

Donna & I started tai chi classes together MANY years ago. I want to say they started in 2013. I´m not sure. We did it through the City of Danville. I stayed with it for 10 years. Donna and I resonated immediately. I just knew we would be good friends when the first time I came to visit her, I stayed for 5 hours! I will miss her TERRIBLY in my life, even though I moved a distance away. I love her so.
