Donna Dee Manders

Donna Dee Christopherson Manders, 72, from Columbia Heights, Minnesota died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones in Winston-Salem on September 30th, 2023. We are grateful for the compassionate care given by Trellis Home Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Eugene Christopherson, brother Gary "Chris" Christopherson and his daughter Tammy. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Nichole Taylor, two granddaughters Laura and Rachel Taylor. Other surviving family members are Gary's widow, Kathryn Christopherson and her two grandchildren, her brother Brian Christopherson and his two children and her ex-husband, Tom Manders.

Donna was born in Minneapolis, MN and married a career military man. She loved living 10 years in Germany where her daughter was born. She received her bachelor's degree from Montclair State while living in New Jersey. Before retiring as a Document Analyst from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, she held a variety of positions. She volunteered at Presidio Preschool CA and for the Westbrook Photography Club AZ. She enjoyed fishing with her family, traveling and especially being a mother and grandmother. After retiring to North Carolina, she volunteered for the Winston Salem Dog Training Club and served on the board of the Heritage Path POA. She was Trial Secretary for several dog sports and enjoyed competing with her dog Ari.

Family and friends will gather in Winston Salem for a private celebration of her amazing life.
