Donna Surina

Donna Dunbar Surina passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2025 in Leesburg, Virginia due to complications arising from vascular issues. She is predeceased by her husband John Carroll Surina, and is survived by her daughter Suzanne Surina Reardon, her son-in-law Timothy Reardon, her grandsons, Sean and Kevin Reardon, her siblings Thomas Dunbar (Mai), Robert Herzog, Richard Herzog, and Theresa Howdeshell (Mark), and her brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Lori Surina.

Donna studied English literature at Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University, and loved the English language, classic films, literature, soulful arts of all kinds, and perhaps above all else, Elvis Presley. Donna enjoyed her work as an office manager for the International Association of Firefighters and numerous real estate developers in Fairfax County, Virginia.

Donna lived a full, interesting, and passionate life with her husband of 50 years, "Old Handsome John". She loved being a mother and grandmother, delighted in spending time with her grandsons, and was devoted to her siblings and friends. For over 40 years she dedicated herself to helping others with addiction recovery and finding peace and joy in sobriety.
