Donna Vala Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 22, 2025.
Donna L. Vala (Bisenius) passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born on January 4, 1954, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to James and Lois (Leuer) Bisenius.

Donna graduated from Emmetsburg Community High School in 1972 and pursued her passion for nursing at Rochester Community College, earning her degree in 1975. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a registered nurse, demonstrating compassion and commitment throughout her years of service.

On December 17, 1977, Donna married Tim Vala in Emmetsburg, and together they built a life centered on love and family. In 1985, they moved to Portland, Texas, where they made their home and created lasting memories.

Donna found joy in life's simple pleasures and treasured time spent with her loved ones. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who touched many lives with her kindness and warmth.

She is survived by her husband, Tim; her children, Jenni and John (Lisa); her grandchildren, Kadance, Marshall, Tara, Lila, and Oliver; and her siblings, Richard (Candy) Bisenius and Linda (Clint) Thompson.

Donna's faith was a guiding light in her life, bringing comfort and strength to those around her. Her loving spirit will be dearly missed but forever cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Even though Donna and I graduated from Emmetsburg High School together, I didn't really get to know her until we both lived in the Mason City area. She was always ready for some fun and we enjoyed socializing with her and Tim and the kids. When they moved to Texas, we visited them when we wintered in McAllen, TX. She was so kind hearted, loved her family, and always had time for friends! She had a good soul! Rest in peace good friend!
