I first met Donna at Seattle Children's Hospital in my early 20s, and from the start, her love of life was both infectious and captivating. She had a way of inspiring those around her, not just with her words of wisdom but with the way she embraced life so fully.
We would spend hours talking over tea at Peet´s Coffee, and I always left our conversations feeling more enlightened. Donna had a rare gift-she could connect with anyone, regardless of age, gender identity, or life experience. This deep sense of respect and understanding made her an exceptional pediatric rehab nurse and an even more extraordinary friend.
Even as her body began to challenge her, she never forgot to ask about my husband and children. Her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering care for others were constants in her life. Having Donna in my life was truly a gift, and the world is a better place because she was in it. She will forever be missed, but I will always hold her dearly in my heart.
With much love,
Lindsey Kennedy

Thank you Shelia for a lovely obituary. So often one does not get "the whole story" about a friend until they pass on. I appreciated Donna as a friend during my one year at Lloyd high school and then at the University of Kentucky. We went separate ways for years until we met again briefly in Seattle.

I attended high school with Donna. Who could have imagined that this very smart, quiet (almost shy) young girl would accomplish so much and touch so many lives. While we grieve, we should also find joy that Donna lived a full life experiencing things and places that many of us could only dream of doing.
