Donna Young

Mrs. Donna Moore Young passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in New Britain, Connecticut, at the age of 96.

Born on January 15, 1929, in Valley City, North Dakota, Donna was raised in Mandan, North Dakota. She met her husband, Donald Constant Young, while both were attending Jamestown University. They married on September 9, 1950, and shared a long life together until his passing in 1983. They made their home in New Britain and Farmington, Connecticut, where they raised four daughters.

As her children grew older, Donna pursued further education and earned a master's degree in psychology from the University of Hartford. She later worked as a guidance counselor at Bristol Central High School. Donna found joy in gardening and took pride in maintaining her yard from the seat of her John Deere tractor. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of the UConn Huskies women's basketball team.

She is survived by her daughters: Stephanie Pew and her husband John Pew of North Palm Beach, Florida; Nan Marie MacGruer of Marietta, Georgia; Laura J. Young of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Sandra Miller and her husband David Miller of Burlington, Connecticut. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Jerome Home and Arbor House for their compassionate care over the past year.
