Danville - Donnie Gene Smith, age 83, of Fort Smith, AR passed away peacefully November 2nd, 2023. Donnie was born in Havana, AR on May 7th, 1940 to the late Irvin and Eliza Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, of 61 years, two sons, Edward Smith of Ft. Smith, David T. Smith (wife Pam), of Little Rock, and daughter, Melodie Allgaier of Ft. Smith. He had 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, a sister-in-law, Fern Smith of Broken Arrow, 1 brother-in-law, Johnny Foster (wife Hazel), of Havana, AR.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Deward Smith (wife Sue) and Paul Smith.

One of his favorite things to do was play with his grandchildren. He loved playing monster and giving horsey back rides. He enjoyed his yard and his plants. Donnie was also known for his unique and beautiful Christmas decorations. Donnie and Joyce hosted many open houses to share their beautiful home during the Christmas season.

Donnie worked for Holt Krock Clinic as a lab manager for many years. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Havana United Methodist Church at Belleville with Rev. Bob Lever officiating.
