Dora Lawson

LAWSON, Dora 1919-2014 Died peacefully in her sleep at Eskaton in Carmichael, CA. Born in Kansas, Dora graduated from high school and business school before making her way by train to Sacramento. Soon after arriving she met her future husband, Archie, at The First Baptist Church. It didn't take long for him to propose. They were married 58 years and had a lifelong love and respect for each other. W.W. II found Dora and Archie employed at Marinship in Sausalito, CA building Liberty Ships. Dora was the cutest welder! After the war they returned to Sacramento where Archie opened a Sheet Metal business, and their family grew. Dora enjoyed many good times traveling with Archie, and golfing at Del Paso C.C. and Borrego Springs, CA. She was a kind, good-natured woman, who was so loved by her family. Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Archie and son, Jim. She is survived by her son, Rodney (Betty) and daughter, Lorna; grandchildren Michael (Lisa), David (Joy), Emily; great-grandsons Andrew, Cameron, Matthew and Liam. Private family memorial to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
