I only knew Mrs. Reese through Mr. Reese (many years ago, when they lived on River Road) and always found her to be lovely, charming and engaging. I am sure she will be missed by many people.

I just learned of Dora's passing when I called and found her number disconnected.

She and I had a great adventure in her last years when we collaborated to restore and digitize the 1982 WLVT-TV telecast of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem performing the Mass in B Minor under Dora's husband, my friend William, who had been Professor of Music and choral director at Haverford College when I was a student.

In recent years Dora's health declined, but her spirit always shone through. When I last visited her in September on my New England trip she felt well enough to treat me to lunch in the dining room of the McAuley retirement community where she lived.

I will miss our visits and telephone chats, but I know how much her disability distressed her, and I am grateful that now she is free.
