Just learned about Dorcas' on The Foods That Built America on History channel. What a great legacy. She was truly an incentive and creative woman who leaves a lasting mark on the Thanksgiving tables all across America.

Dorcas you made holiday season fun and nutritional. Campbell's soup can't be beat. You can eat it or use it in recipes. I hope that Campbell's put out a recipe collection of yours and with desserts in it also. I liked the rosy rocks and tomato soup cake the best.

At age 76, I never realized how popular Dorcas' 'Green Bean Casserole' was! My dear aunt Cherry made it whenever I attended holiday dinners with the Carpenters in Oreland, PA. I'm just now catching on to it MYSELF and am copying the recipe from the Web. I began to read about her accomplishments, esp. at Drexel Institute, so, of course I researched her. Sadden to hear her family has lost their beloved Mum, Grandmum, Aunt and wife. She is now peacefully in the palm of His hand. May God comfort you always knowing she is always there for you in spirit to whom to talk.

Thanks to Mrs Reilly and Campbell's soup even desserts can be more nutritional. The tomato soup cake and rosy rock cookies are always a hit for me in the autumn with the spices . Also I use tomato soup in my pumpkin dishes. You came from an era when people had to stretch budgets. Mock apple pie and your recipes will be handed down to my family. Thanks for the memories!

Mrs Reilly your recipe is world wide famous thanks to the internet. We will always remember you when we partake of your dishes and also enjoy the church and school functions when your recipes are served. You were right up there with Julia Child and Dione Lucas!
