Doreen Baird

BAIRD - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen Marie Baird, age 70 of Saskatoon, on Tuesday, January 10th, 2006, with her family at her side. Doreen was born on July 30th, 1935 in Moonhill, SK, the eldest daughter of Alicide and Rosalie LaVallee. Doreen married Leo Baird on August 31st, 1957. They resided in Prince Albert until 1965 when they moved to Saskatoon. Doreen will always be remembered as a caring, giving and talented person. She was that true friend that we will miss. Doreen is survived by her loving family: Leo, her husband of 49 years; her son, Garnet (Lorri), children, Matthew, Michael and Christopher; son, Greg (Barbara) children, Catherine and Jennifer, all of Saskatoon; and son, Doug of Blackfalds, Alberta; two sisters, Lillian (Alvin) Baird and Marlene (Wayne) Rocheleau; three brothers, Tom (Dorelle) LaVallee, Floyd (Gerry) LaVallee, Felix (Gwen) LaVallee; sisters-inlaw, Agnes Logan, Evelyn Greenwald, Jessie Pinkney, Sylvia (Charlie) Lang, Marie (Jack) Heffernan; brothers-in-law, Lorne (Ellen) Baird, Stewart (Bea) Baird; numerous nieces, nephews and her many special friends. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Alcide and Rose LaVallee; her father and mother-in-law, James and Virginia Baird. The Funeral Mass celebrated by Reverend Fr. Gerard Dewan will be held at St. Philip Neri Parish, 1902 Munroe Avenue on Saturday, January 14th, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Private family burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doreen's memory to the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic. Arrangements are in care of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME (David Schurr 477-4400).
