Passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on February, 24, 2016 at 7:15 p.m. Predeceased on February 1, 2016 by her husband Sydney Thomas Lowndes of 59.5 years and survived by her son David (Lisa) Lowndes, son Daniel (Suzanne) Lowndes, daughter Maureen (David) Smith, granddaughters Jessica and Jacqueline Lowndes, Pam (Bill) Blayney and Kaitlyn Smith, grandson Rick Smith, great-grandson Deegan Blayney, great-granddaughters Elyssa and Seanna Blayney and predeceased by grandson Michael Smith. Also survived by her brother Carman Hardie, brother Clayton Hardie, sister Donna Fright and predeceased by sister Rosemarie (Lorne) Hall, sister-in- law Linda (Clayton) Hardie, sister-in-law Martha Lowndes and sister-in-law Sybil Lowndes and survived by sister-in-law Audrey (Hugh) Layzell and many nieces and nephews. Dorene was born in London, Ontario on November 27, 1928 and spent her childhood years on a family farm. On June 30, 1956, she married Sydney in London, Ontario. Dorene focused her energies on raising her family of three as a homemaker. Dorene will be remembered as a loving, caring, faithful, supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and lived her life with a passionate love for her family, friends and her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. After being diagnosed with stomach cancer in late 2015, Dorene spent her remaining days at Morgan Place in Surrey where she received excellent care. A celebration service of Dorene's life will be held at Bible Fellowship Foursquare Church at 15100 66 A Avenue, Surrey on Saturday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. For online condolences please visit
