My thoughts and prayers are with the Ladner family, extended family, and the many friends. Mrs Dorian´s work and accomplishments speak for themselves and will stand the test of time. Being in her presence was always an honor and a pleasure. We would always exchange information since she knew people from my hometown in Mississippi (Moss Point, Pascagoula, Gautier, Vancleave, Biloxi, and Gulfport). We´d talk about the influential writers from Mississippi and, like always, she would recommend several good books. "These are people who are from Mississippi! Knowing them is necessary. Let others know how their contributions have led to your success."

Mrs Dori was overflowing with a wealth of information, inspiration, and advice. Her ability to handle the memory of facts always amazed me. Everyone felt her absence from the Lance Reynolds´s WPFW radio program because she was an exceptional woman with an incredible spirit. Both her sense of humor and her first-hand accounts of her days as a Freedom Fighter were something I always looked forward to hearing. Her mantra, "We who believe in freedom can never rest." We will feel her absence as a passing era leaves us behind. Please accept my deepest heartfelt condolences. She remains a veritable treasure. "Peace Be Still."

I had the great pleasure of meeting Ms Ladner when she graciously agreed to serve as on a panel in NJ about Women in the Civil Rights movement sponsored by our sorority. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta. Ms Ladner was so courageous, wise and knowledgeable. We stayed in touch. I feel honored to have met this woman who sacrificed life and limb to make life better for future generations. May she rest in power.
