Doris Anna Ruoff

Doris Anna Ruoff, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away 9/1/2017 in Memphis, TN. at the age of 86 from leukemia. Born in Philadelphia, PA. to William and Alice Lewis on 2/21/1931. Graduated from Kensington High School in Philadelphia, PA. She grew up in Philly where she met her one true love Bill who almost wasn't. She turned him down for a date three times. The first three times were for dinner and dancing. On the fourth and final date request she accepted. They went to Camden, NJ. to see a wrestling match. They dated for several years and married on 3/31/1951. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year. Moved to Memphis, TN. in April 1967 and slowly fell in love with the area. She leaves behind: a loving husband William (Bill), 4 children- Bruce Ruoff and wife Yoko of Bartlett, TN., Dale June of Cordova, TN., Donna Wiemar and Husband David of Bartlett, TN., Bryan Ruoff and wife Lisa of Lakeland, TN. She has 7 grandchildren: Jennifer Cox, Charles Wiemar, William Ruoff, Matthew June, Laura Wiemar, Ben June, Erica Ruoff. 3 great-grandchildren- Abigail, Raegan, and Charlotte; and sister, Alice Mostrangeli of Trenton, NJ. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 and a funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 both at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133.
