Doris Arn Obituary
Doris was born Oct. 2, 1921, at Holt County, Mo., to Lowell and Madge (Leach) Colwell. She was a 1939 graduate of Savannah High School.
Doris married Walter A. Arn on Dec. 2, 1941, at Savannah. Walter preceded in death March 18, 1997.
Also preceding in death were her parents; sisters, Carol Sterner and Betty Pryor; brothers, Bob and Oren Colwell; and grandson, Brad Arn.
Doris served as the deputy collector for the Andrew County, Mo., collector's office for 25 years.
She was a member of St. John's Church, Amazonia, Mo., and served as the church secretary for many years. She was also a member of the Friendly Neighbors of Savannah, Northwest Missouri Genealogy Society and Goodloe Gogetters 4-H Club.
Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald (Jean), Dale (Janis), David (Kathy) and Dennis (Susan) Arn, all of Savannah; brothers, William Colwell, Farmington, Mo.; and Loren Colwell, Harvard, Neb.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah. Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Amazonia. Public viewing: after 9 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Church, Amazonia.
